You will then be asked to 'Choose Your Wagon Party'. Here you can enter the names of people you wish to travel with you. Standard names are already chosen but you can replace these with your own pals/family/heroes etc. I've known people put the likes of Elvis Presley in their wagon party before now. You can also choose your own name in this screen:

As well as picking the names of your party, this is the screen where you choose what occupation you are. This is important. Some occupations have special bonuses or skills so choose carefully! A banker has lots of money to start off with, but no special skills or bonuses. A blacksmith and a carpenter can fix things quickly when problems with the wagon occur (wheel changes etc). A doctor is better at healing people when they are sick, which means they are less likely to die. A farmer can heal the oxen better. A merchant is good at bartering etc etc. If you need more information on this click the 'Explain' button. The worst occupation is a Teacher because you get the least amount of money and no bonuses. The best (in my opinion) is probably a doctor because you get a good balance between money (2nd only to banker) and bonuses (the ability to heal).

Once you have chosen your party and your occupation click 'OK'.
